The Perfect Mother's Day Gift And A Spa Break Competition!

Mother's Day is fast approaching and we all know that that means it's time to show our mama bears a bit of affection. I'm not the most affectionate person in the world so days like Mother's Day is the perfect excuse for me to get my lil butt into gear and get my mum something special and this year, she's had some amazing treats in the form of a spa getaway and some exclusive Mother's Day jewellery. Daisy London whisked my mum and me away to North East favourite Rockliffe Hall for a night of rest and relaxation just in time for Mother's Day and they're also giving you the chance to win your very own spa break for you and your own mum!

Upon arriving at Rockliffe Hall, we were treated like royalty straight away with the nicest doorman taking our suitcases and our car from us and showing us to the reception. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, featuring huge open rooms with traditional furniture, big fireplaces and huge windows that allow you to look out onto the endless grounds of the hotel. We had a little wander around the hotel and looked into some of the other rooms, all of which are decorated differently and they're out of this world with big squashy beds, TVs above the bath and probably one of the most luxurious atmospheres I've ever encountered. The hotel also features various rooms for weddings and functions, providing what I can imagine is the most beautiful backdrop for wedding photos (a huge stained glass window at the top of a wide staircase though?!).

We changed into our robes and swimwear and headed down into the spa. I was well overdue a spa day tbh after a stressful few weeks so it was amazing just to chill by the pool, again with more stained glass windows lining the walls. The spa also has an amazing hot tub style pool with different kinds of jets lining the outside, along with squashy bean bags, an ice room and a room with heated beds. Yup, it was as relaxing as it sounds! I wore my Daisy jewellery from their Chakra collection featuring pieces that tie in perfectly with the relaxation of a spa day, with the collection symbolising our goals and wellness. I personally love the Aura Chakra Bracelet and have been wearing it basically non-stop - it's just so easy to wear and I love the symbolism behind the whole collection.

I had my first ever hot stone massage while at the spa which I loved (new favourite kind of massage alert!) and my mum had a facial which she said made her skin feel wonderful. My back gets all kinds of knotted and the therapist worked on my worst areas and I felt like a new person afterwards which is really what you want from a spa treatment isn't it?! We also had a slot booked in the spa garden, a feature that sets Rockliffe Hall apart from the rest of the spas here in the north east. There's a heated infinity pool with jets, heated beds, a sauna, refreshments, a fire pit and stunning views across the gardens. It's really worth adding this on to your spa package - you won't experience this anywhere else!

The food was absolutely amazing. We had a three course dinner in the Brasserie, Rockliffe's award winning restaurant. I had scallops for my starter and I can't even explain how amazing they were, also featuring some slow cooked pork that my mum didn't stop talking about for literally hours. We had hand-cut chips, buttered brocoli and onion rings with our mains, my mum having steak and me having duck and it was absolutely beautiful with a totally luxurious setting and amazing service too. My favourite part was the breakfast though. I had a full English while looking out of the windows across the grounds and the breakfast room was so beautiful, the perfect place to finish off a night of relaxation.
