Does anyone else go through real love/hate relationships with clothes? You the pieces that one minute you're running frantically around every shop spending dollar on every variety of it you can possibly find and then two months later you look at your wardrobe and think "what the fuck have you done?" Well, that's me with mom jeans. I went through a phase a few years back of never going a day without wearing them then a few months later, I decided I thought they were the ugliest things I'd laid eyes on and sold them on eBay for two quid. Now, I'm back in business. The mom jeans have won my heart once again and they're back in my wardrobe and granted I only have one pair at the mo', I can guarantee you I have my eye on a few more in Topshop right now...
STRIPED TOP: NEW LOOK / RIPPED MOM JEANS, BLACK BOMBER JACKET: TOPSHOP / FLUFFY SANDALS: PRIMARK (similar) / *STRIPED WATCH: c/o DANIEL WELLINGTON / *PINS: c/o PUNKY PINS / BLACK SHOULDER BAG: ZARA
So these are the latest mom jeans in my life and after wearing them almost constantly for the past few weeks, I'm wondering how I could possibly have ever fallen out of love with them. Yes, they are more difficult to style than the classic skinny jeans but I love the urban vibes mom jeans give off and how they can be styled in so many different ways. Here I've gone for quite a boyish vibe with the grungy stripes and the MA1 black bomber jacket but have you seen what are on my feet?! Yup, it's only the best pair of sliders you've ever seen in your life. A pair of shoes that look and feel like slippers but are acceptable to wear outside? YES PLEASE. I don't care that almost every passerby looked at my feet with a rather confused look on their face, these shoes are fabulous and I feel as sassy as Noughties Paris Hilton with them on my tootsies thank you very much.
I've also customised my MA1 bomber here a lil with some super sassy pins from Punky Pins. They sent me over a wonderful package of goodies when I wont Best Fashion Blog at the Bloggers Blog Awards last year and I've had some much fun sticking them on all of my clothes. Pins and patches are just such a good way to really make a piece your own, especially when it's a basic wardrobe piece like this and let's be honest, every fashionista and her wife has this bomber jacket. Not that that matters, it's still a fabulous coat but it is nice to make it a little bit different and more your own style which is exactly what these pins do.
