What I Wore In Paris

The day after Boxing Day, my mum and I were sent off to the wonderful city of Paris courtesy of La Redoute to explore the French delights in December and visit the amazing Parisian Christmas Markets and after a pretty tough December and a distinct lack of Christmas cheer, let me tell you it was well needed. I'll be writing a separate blog post all about what we got up to in the city but for now I wanted to show you what was in my suitcase. I love dressing for city breaks and La Redoute kitted me out with some simply wonderful pieces to take with me, perfect for looking chic in one of the most fashionable cities in the world and even though I struggled to get them all in my little case (read: I had to sit and squeeze my suitcase for a full ten minutes before it would zip up), these outfits couldn't have been better for my time away.

*MERCI BEAU COUP SWEATSHIRT, *DUAL FABRIC COAT: c/o LA REDOUTE / *SILVER METALLIC ANKLE BOOTS: c/o KURT GEIGER / BLACK SKINNY RIDLEY JEANS: ASOS / CHUNKY KNITTED HAT, OVERSIZED WHITE SHIRT: TOPSHOP

Let me tell you that it was cold in Paris. The kind of cold where every time you walk outside you exclaim "bloody hell it's cold!". That meant I knew I needed a super chic coat to take with me and of course, La Redoute had an abundance of them. This high necked beauty looks so expensive in real life when in reality it's an amazing price for such a high quality, staple coat. I wrote a post basically wearing this exact outfit a couple of weeks ago and talking about layering things so how could I resist looking stylish and keeping warm at the same time?!

As for shoes, I always go for boots on city breaks (and for most of my life tbh). I've a few pairs of ankle boots in my wardrobe with a block heel the perfect heigh for walking around all day and this pair of Kurt Geiger beauties is probably one of my most worn pair of shoes at the moment. My mum didn't listen to me and went for her trademark huge heels. Amateur city break mistake but she coped well!

*HERRINGBONE BOXY COAT: c/o LA REDOUTE / BLACK KNITTED JUMPER: NEW LOOK (similar) / SKINNY RIDLEY JEANS: ASOS / *METALLIC SILVER ANKLE BOOTS: c/o KURT GEIGER

I know, I know I really didn't need any more coats at all (seriously, I can't even shut my coat cupboard door anymore) but how could I not get this one? Again, La Redoute hit the nail on the head when it comes to bringing us high-end looking pieces for a fraction of the price and this coat comes in at less than £30. Yup, amazing right?! I went simple with this outfit and teamed it with the exact same things from the day before, swapping out my layered sweatshirt and shirt combo with a chunk high neck black jumper.

You'll notice I have a Sephora bag in my hand and yup, I got a bit spendy. I managed to finally take the plunge and get myself an Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow and I feel like my brow game has changed forever. Yep, you betcha I entered 2017 with a strong ass brow game and that is not going to stop as the year goes on.

TEDDY COAT: DAMART (AKA MY GRANDMA'S WARDROBE) (similar) / *TAUPE JUMPER: c/o LA REDOUTE / RIPPED JAMIE JEANS: TOPSHOP / *SNAKE PRINT BOOTS: c/o KURT GEIGER

The final day my Grandma's good old fleecy coat made another reappearance. On the last day of trips I always wear my most casual outfit because it's probably the outfit I'm going to be travelling back in, a trip that needs something comfy and cosy for me when the train journey from London to the North is three hours! I've never really been a fan of brown tones in clothing but I absolutely love how the La Redoute jumper looks with the snake print of my boots and the very light creamy colour of my coat.

I just wish everywhere I took my blog photos was as pretty as the streets of Paris, a desire that I'm sure every fashion blogger out there shares but hey, we can all dream right?! I'll just have to make do with the poor lighting in my house and some local streets until I can afford my dream apartment in the big city (lolz)
