Beauty Brands To Try In 2017

Last year was the year that I eventually started trying more and more new beauty brands, breaking free of my habit to stay with the same ones continuously even when they weren't working for me. I finally tried some different foundation brands, I tried facial oil which was something I'd thought would never come within a mile of my face and I made some discoveries about my skin, hair and general health that I never would have without branching out into some more brands and products. Here are some of my favourite brands from 2016 that I definitely want to see more of this year!

PIXI

Pixi
is probably one of the most hyped brands I tried for the first time at the end of last year and I was pleasantly surprised to find that almost all the products I've tried from them lived up to my very high expectations. I'd seen Pixi mentioned on countless blogs, Instagram accounts and Youtube channels but had never actually tried anything from the brand. You know how it is sometimes with raved about products; you get them expecting them to change your life and well, they just don't. I'm pleased to report however that Pixi did not disappoint.

I've tried a combination of their skincare and make-up products over the past couple of months and although I actually liked everything I tried, a few of them really stood out to me and have become firm favourites in my collection, the first being the Glow Mist. I've spoken a number of times before about how I just assumed that because I have oily skin, my skin didn't need hydrating products but oh boy was I wrong. The Glow Mist is a product that you simply spray over your face either before or after applying your make-up to give your skin a bit of a boost. I prefer to use this before I apply my make-up and I feel that it really makes my skin look so much healthier underneath my foundation, overall giving a natural glow to my entire face. I've been using this every day since I got it and I can definitely feel it becoming a permanent fixture for me.

Another product that I've been loving is the Beauty Sleep Cream, a thick cream to apply before bed to sooth the skin and hydrate the skin. It's such a thick and creamy moisturiser but what I love about it is that it doesn't feel heavy on my skin yet I still wake up on a morning with my skin feeling refreshed and nourished. I also absolutely love the smell of the cream - the lavender notes in it makes it perfect for an evening product and I think it actually makes me feel a bit calmer and more settled before going to bed so it's definitely a winning product for me!

LOVE ME BEAUTY

Love Me Beauty is a brand that totally won me over last year. I was one of the people who never fell into the hype of the monthly beauty boxes and although I kept telling myself that I was going to get myself signed up to one of the most well-known ones, I just never ever got around to it. I've worked with Love Me Beauty since early last year and every month now I look forward to the arrival of my box. They have some simply amazing brands on board, from Kat Von D to Benefit to Make Up For Ever and thanks to the box, I've been able to find some new favourites that I probably wouldn't have without the subscription. Like I've mentioned before though, LMB isn't like any other beauty box. With this one, you get credits every month to choose the contents of your own box depending on what kind of products you're into or what you want to try. I don't do this and prefer the surprise every month but it means the box can be tailored to you every month and there's no more disappointment when one month might be a bit rubbish.

RAPID WHITE

I've always been super self-conscious of my teeth whether it was about their whiteness or their shape or anything else. I drink a lot of tea and because I have such strong tea (read: so strong that people say "wtf is that" when they see me drinking it), I'm always open to trying whitening products. I have tried a few of the products with the light fixtures and the palettes and although they definitely work, they are a bit of a fanny on to actually use. Let's face it, dripping spit all over your face and walking around with a blue light in your mouth is not the most comfortable way to spend half an hour. Over the past couple of months I've been trialling the Rapid White Cleanse and Polish System and I have been so impressed by it.

In the pack you get a dental cleaning head, a dental polishing head and some little cups of paste that you whizz onto your teeth to get rid of pesky and stubborn stains that normal brushing won't touch. I don't have really stained teeth but they are quite dull due to all of the tea I drink and I'll admit that I was absolutely blown away after the first time I used this. I could see how much whiter my teeth looked and after going through three of the four cups, I can definitely say this is a product that has worked for me. Also I think the price point is really good on this as some professional home whitening kits can go into the hundreds of pounds. The Cleanse and Polish system comes in at £65 so is considerably cheaper than most I've seen around and I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to get their teeth a few shades whiter without any hassle of application or paying a fortune.

THE FRAGRANCE SHOP

I'm sure the Fragrance Shop is a brand you've all heard of and shopped at many times before - with their amazingly priced perfumes and aftershaves, it's hard not to have a sneaky look in as you walk by! Anyway, they've recently launched Discovery Club, a box that is filled with exciting perfume samples so you can choose which scent you love most before you buy. I'm quite fussy when it comes to perfume so this kind of thing is great for me as you get around 3 days worth of perfume in each sample meaning that at £5, it's really worth testing the scents before you splash out £40+ for something you're unsure about. I didn't even know that Agent Provocateur did a perfume until I got this box and I absolutely fell in love with it and it's become a scent I really want to get my hands on - can Santa come back please?

What brands will you be trying in 2017? Have you tried any of these before?
