What To Wear For New Year's Eve

Christmas is officially over, the big man has been with the gifts and now it's time to start thinking about the next festive event. New Year's Eve is one of those nights where you cannot be overdressed. Everyone gets totally glammed up and there phrase "less is more" goes out of the window - more is definitely more on the last night of the year! I've teamed up with ASOS for the perfect festive going "out out" look and let me tell you that I've never been so obsessed with a dress in my entire life. Just look at it. As soon as I put this amazing piece on I felt like a million dollars and I wanted to hit the dance floor there and then, even if it was 10am on a Tuesday morning! I cannot wait to wear it to actually go out with a statement smokey eye, nude lip and my trademark tousled waves.

The dress is embellished all over and I feel like a super glam mermaid when I'm wearing it. It has a beautiful, iridescent glimmer in the light and the fit is my favourite for dresses too with the high neck and the sleeves. I did go a little bit unorthodox for a NYE night out though and rather than killer heels, I decided to team the dress with navy ankle boots. Of course, it's no secret that I'm obsessed with ankle boots and I'll admit that I was a little dubious about how the dress would look with boots rather than sandals but I love it. It looks a little bit rougher but no less dressy and certainly no less glamorous - it's just a little bit more me than with the sky high heels.

For the bag, of course it had to be something shiny so the Ted Baker iridescent cross body was perfect to finish it off. Not only is it the perfect size for going out out, it looks amazing teamed with the glitz of the dress and the grungier feel of the boots and I also decided to wear a few bits of silver jewellery just to finish it off.

I'm hoping that this year my NYE is a lot more exciting than my last. When 2016 started, I was actually sitting down in the shower after doing a shift at work so let's hope I'm doing something a little bit better but hey, I'm a workaholic so there's not much chance of that is there?!

What will you be wearing to see 2017 in?

  10. I can't wear heels so pairing a sparkly dress with flat boots is just my kind of thing. Flats are just more comfortable and practical and there are some great fancy pairs out there. I'd throw in some fancy tights too and a bold lipstick
