Going From Simple To Statement

So far this season I've talked about wearing jumpsuits for Christmas parties as well as going all out glamour and in today's blog post I've teamed up with New Look and their amazing of party wear to show you how to take simple outfits to statement outfits. It's no secret that I love having a black piece as a base to my outfit and then jazzing it up with some bits and pieces so this is definitely the kind of look that I'd go for, whether it's on Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or for a Christmas meal out. I went for the tulle dress, a piece that I think is an absolute classic when going for looks like this. The simple silhouette is made more interesting thanks to the feminine netting on the skirt and the plunging neck line looks sleek and a lil bit hot for a night out.

For me, the beauty of keeping things simple is the flexibility it gives you in the accessories. You can team dresses like this with literally anything and it'll always look amazing and you can transform them into any type of look you want, changing just the accessories. I wanted this outfit to be super glam so I went for the pinky nude stiletto heels with the tie up detailing and I think they look perfect. The light colouring adds a little bit of a clash and them look super chic with the fit of the tulle dress and when teamed with the other accessories, the dress really does make the perfect base.

Blogger cliche I know but I went for the rose gold metallic bag. It looks so Christmassy and the metallic finish means that it's a great piece to have in your wardrobe for all going out occasions, Christmas or not. Jewellery is also important for turning simple to statement and for me it's all about the finger candy. I love stacking rings and New Look have the best and affordable jewellery to jazz up an outfit. It's all about the details and for me, adding little things like chokers, stacking rings and bracelets is the subtle way to make a statement. 

Finally, I absolutely love adding faux fur coats to simple outfits to jazz them  up. There's something so luxurious about the big, fluffy faux fur coats that really add to a simple LBD and also, they keep you a little bit warmer without ruining the outfit which is always a plus right?!
