Christmas parties are all about the glitz, the glamour and the festivities and there's not many events that are more fun to dress for than Christmas parties. The thing I love about Christmas style is that you can never be too over the top. I think for the most part, we're a bit scared of overdoing things and we always seem to bear in mind the phrase "less is more". Well for me, at this time of year more is more and that's why I went for this skirt. It's such a statement piece and I feel like a walking talking disco ball when I wear it and trust me it's an eye-catcher. Whilst I did decide to keep the main focus on the sequins with the black bodysuit, I added in a few other key textures and print to make it the perfect party outfit.
I may be a proper northern lass but I dislike being cold on a night out as much as the next person which is why I love wearing "posh" coats for partying, especially faux fur. There's something about faux fur that just looks so luxe and this means that coats like this are the perfect addition to any going out outfit, actually adding to the overall look rather than making it more casual like most coats would do.
The super cute clutch and of course, a statement pair of ankle boots are what really finish the skirt off. Yup, it would undoubtedly look amazing with simple all black but it looks party perfect with the embellishment details on the accessories. The boots are literally me all over. The heel, the material, the star embellishment....they are absolutely dreamy (and comfy too fyi!)
All in all, Dorothy Perkins have it absolutely nailed for getting you party ready this season.
