The #BloggersBlogAwards: A Big THANK YOU

Last weekend something amazing happened. Something that I never thought in all of my time blogging would happen. Salt and Chic actually won an award! Yup, little old me won Best Fashion Blog at the #BloggersBlogAwards which was organised by the wonderful Hayley from Tea Party Beauty and I'll be honest I'm still pinching myself. The category was so strong from the minute I was nominated I had resigned myself to the fact I wasn't going to win so when Hayley called me as the winner I couldn't stop smiling, as you can tell from the incredibly goofy grin I have on my face above!



The awards were held in Canal Mills in Leeds and Hayley did an absolutely fantastic job. The venue looked amazing with fairy lights, cute cupcakes, selfie photo props, glasses of prosecco and some absolute blogging babes. Living right up in the north east, there aren't many blogging events that attract bloggers from all over the country and it was absolutely love to meet more people, discover more amazing blogs and Instagrams and have a right old laugh with some great internet friends. The lovely Bethany from What She Did took these photos of me at the awards (go check out her Halloween make-up on Twitter because it is amazing) and I had the pleasure of meeting some gorgeous gals who I've spoken to online for a while, such as Vix Meldrew, Very Berry Cosmo, Robowecop and so many others, as well as meet up with some older friends like Imii from Nettle & Blackberry and Megan from Thumbelina Lillie (who won two awards!!!). It would take me so long to list everyone but I can tell you that everyone who I had the pleasure of speaking to was absolutely lovely and I definitely discovered some new favs.

Not only that but there was a simply brilliant raffle with prizes from some of the biggest beauty brands including *swoons just thinking about it* an Urban Decay Lipstick Vault. Oh em gee, you should have seen all of us who kept edging over to it, clearly resisting the urge to pick it up and make a run for it! I'm not sure who won the most coveted prize but whoever it was I have never been more jealous of anyone. Ever.

I just want to say an absolutely huge thank you to anyone who voted for me, who follows me on social media, who reads my blog regularly or even only once or twice, even if it's your first time visiting here. Thank you so much for helping Salt and Chic become the fashion blog that it is today - I'm still pinching myself!
