There are some things that come back around season after season and for me in Autumn and Winter, it's metallics. Shining and shimmering in the colder, festive months is just an absolute must and you don't have to go full on party dress to do it. I've been a little bit of a magpie this past month and keep adding pretty, shiny things to my wardrobe that will take me right through this season and the other day I thought I would go all out and go full on space girl with some double silver.
*GUNMENTAL ANKLE BOOTS: c/o KURT GEIGER / METALLIC A-LINE SILVER SKIRT: NEW LOOK / SLOGAN T-SHIRT: ZARA (similar) / JEWEL BLACK CHOKER: PRIMARK (similar)
My absolutely favourite part of this outfit is the amazing pair of Kurt Geiger booties on my feet. I've been wanting a pair of metallic ankle boots for so long but struggled to find the perfect pair until I clocked this pair of gunmetal boots. I've been a fan of Kurt Geiger for a long time now (me and every other shoe lover) because of their edgy designs and amazing quality footwear and they fit my style perfectly; a little bit different but so wearable, whether it's for an everyday outfit or for a night out on the town.
The beauty of these is that the gunmetal finish makes them a bit more subtle than some of the other metallic boots I've seen. They're not overly shiny and the dark finish means they're absolutely perfect for teaming with a brighter skirt like this or, if you want to be a bit more subtle, with some black skinnies and a leather jacket. No matter what your personal style is, you can always jazz up your daily outfits with a pair of boots like this and when it comes to ankle boots Kurt Geiger hit the nail on the head every time.

The skirt is another new addition that I picked up for my AW16 wardrobe. I've always been obsessed with a-line skirts and I think I have every variety there is. Button up, denim, pink leather, black leather, blue PVC....you name it I've got it and now I've got a metallic one. This one is from New Look (and is actually down to £14.99 in the sale so go go go!) and the one I'm wearing is from their petite range but they also have it in the ordinary size range too and I can see me getting a lot of wear out of it in the coming months. Some skirts just look wrong with black tights but colours like the silvers, the metallics, the darks look great with them (I know, I don't want to think about getting the tights back out either!), especially when teamed with some ankle boots like the Kurt Geiger ones.
Will you be wearing the metallic trend this season?
