Packing for a holiday or a trip away can be stressful as it is but when you're only taking a small bag or hand luggage, choosing which beauty and skincare products to take can be a nightmare. Who else would be over the moon if they never had to see another of those little plastic bags for liquids ever again?! When you're thinking about what to put in your handbag or your cabin baggage, you want only the best, the essentials that are going to see you through without forcing you out to the shops or making you compromise on your routine. Here are a few of the products that I took to Dubrovnik with me a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you, most of them come with me wherever I go, as well as being my loves at home too.
Of course, I had to include everyone's favourite dry shampoo brand Batiste. Thanks to my fringe, my hair can get quite oily and just a bit ugh at the roots, especially when I'm going out for the day so I've been putting one of Batiste's 50ml Dry Shampoo bottles in my bag, giving my hair a quick spritz throughout the day. I'm sure I don't need to tell you how great these lil bottles are for giving your hair a bit of a boost, especially if you like to go for the "effortlessly messy" look like me. Plus, these bottles are just £1.55 so they're super affordable too - just what you want before you go on holiday or out with the gals! Get them from Boots, Superdrug, Sainsbury's, ASOS and Asda!
You see that little tiny weeny bottle of gold highlighter? Well that my friends has been my holiday saviour for the past year now. I usually go for really light powder highlighter but, especially at this time of year when the sun is still shining and I have a few freckles on my nose, I love going for gold and adding a little bit of a Summer glow that also works through to Autumn. This one is a little mini one that goes in my bag at this time of year but the full size Benefit Sun Beam Highlighter is available from Boots too. It's such a beautiful shade, giving skin the sunkissed look that is perfect for the end of summer. I add mine just on the top of my cheekbones and on the bridge of my nose - even pale gals like me can look bronzed you know!
Keeping my teeth fresh and clean whilst I'm on the go is something I have to do and there are two things I've used at home and whilst travelling this summer. First, the Lush Cosmetics Mouth Wash Tabs are super easy to use, completely natural and even better they don't take up liquid allowance in hand luggage if you're off on a city break! They also don't leave that harsh feeling in your mouth that mouth wash sometimes does so these are a real winner if you aren't a fan of that. The Arm & Hammer Toothpaste also leaves my teeth feeling totally refreshed with its baking soda formula and the Liquid Calcium technology means that it also helps strengthen teeth. Whilst I was in Dubrovnik I ate (a lot) more sugar than I should have thanks to the amazing ice cream but this was perfect for really getting that clean feeling back - isn't it awful when you can just feel the sugar etc. on your teeth?
Finally we've got a brand that I was only introduced to this summer yet the moisturiser has been a summer saviour of mine. The Urban Veda Soothing Day Cream was exactly what I needed for travelling this summer. Late nights, early mornings and jam packed days meant my skin was so tired while I was in Dubrovnik sand this was the perfect moisturiser to use every day. It was light, soothing and stopped my face looking overly shiny in the Croatian heat and back here in England it's been perfect for combatting the humidity. In fact it's been so great for my skin over the last few weeks my tub is nearly empty *cries*.
What are your ultimate on the go beauty essentials?

Great picks, that moisturiser sounds brilliant, I've been looking for a new one to try! And that hair removal sounds ideal, definitely going to get me some of that!
