There's no doubt about it - the North East is absolutely jam packed with super sassy fashionistas. No one does daring dressing quite like us Geordies and even when the temperature is well below freezing, you'll see Newcastle full of mega babes rocking the dresses, shorts and playsuits. Last Friday, I headed to Newcastle Train Station with Virgin Trains and Pretty Little Thing to scout out the best dressed gals who had serious #StationStyle - I was looking out for the sassiest, the cutest, the loudest and the most stylish outfits to be entered into the Station Style competition. At the end of the day I chose my two favs to go to a public vote and the gal with the most votes would be crowned the Best Dressed in Newcastle and win £100 worth of PLT vouchers and some Virgin Trains East Coast train tickets! I'll just talk a lil bit about my own outfit before I reveal my two favourite girls from the day!
*RAQUISHA MID WASH BADGE DENIM JACKET, *BOWIE T-SHIRT DRESS, *CHOKER: c/o PRETTY LITTLE THING / *KURT GEIGER LEOPARD PRINT BOOTS: c/o SHOEAHOLICS
So I've been looking for the perfect denim jacket for literally years. I've only ever owned one other one in my life and it was way too fitted so I never ever wore it. I wanted a grungy, comfortable jacket that was the exact denim that I wanted with the exact sleeves and the exact buttons and collar....not too much to ask right?! Anyway, Pretty Little Thing were the answers to all of my prayers with this bad boy. Oversized, grungy and downright cool, this jacket is easy to throw on over any outfit and is obviously brilliant for nailing any 90s trend at all. I teamed it with a choker (I cannot get enough of chokers at the mo') and an oversized Bowie dress also from PLT for a laid back, cool and effortlessly 90s look.
The boots are from an old fav Shoeaholics, Kurt Geiger's sister website that sells boots like this at amazing prices. These boots gain so many compliments when I'm out and about and you guys know me: I can't resist a statement boot! The heel is the perfect height for day to day wear and oh em gee are they comfy! Also, remember I've put together my own collection of Grunge shoes on Shoeholics to help you get the look with ease - head over to my picks to see what my favs are!
