Everyday Chic

Being a little petite gal at a towering 5'3 (lol) I've always been a little bit frightened of jumpsuits and that fear is intensified when they're even slightly wide leg. Recently though, I've been trying to conquer my fear and have been after the perfect black jumpsuit (inspired once again by the beautiful Lydia Elise Millen!) and when I saw this Dorothy Perkins one on the House of Fraser website, I knew I was going to have to give it a go and now I'm obsessed. Although it is a bit longer on me than it's supposed to be (I think it's supposed to be about mid-calf length?) I feel like I pull it off quite well! It doesn't swamp me and when teamed with my pink mules, it creates the perfect "everyday chic" look that I love so much.

I get that for some people, dresses and jumpsuits may be reserved for going out and posher occasions but I for one love wearing smarter stuff during the day. I love how smarter pieces make me feel and I feel a thousand times more comfortable wearing something that's considered "over-dressed" than I ever would wearing a tracksuit, for example. For me, having something like this jumpsuit in your wardrobe is absolutely essential - when in doubt about the dress code it's a total winner and we all know how confusing those "smart casual" events are! House of Fraser is the perfect website for finding this type of dress or jumpsuit; there's such a huge choice of brands, styles and price points (this jumpsuit is down to £20 btw *gasps*) - I love how easy they make it to look smart on a daily basis.

I don't wear these pink mules nearly enough in my opinions. 4th and Reckless sent them over a couple of months ago now and although I absolutely love them I've just never gotten round to wearing them that much and what a waste that is. They're actually pretty easy to walk in and don't slide off your feet as much as you'd think (I managed a full day shopping in them which is saying something!) so I think I'll be trying to get them on my tootsies a lot more before the dreaded winter chill creeps in!
