Blue Tit London: A Subtle Hair Transformation

Last Friday, the guys over at Blue Tit London invited me down to get my hair done and as (a) my hair was desperate and (b) I'd heard nothing but amazing things about Blue Tit, I couldn't bloody wait. I got booked in at their Dalston branch which is just a few minutes walk from Dalston Kingsland station and to be honest I didn't really know what I wanted doing with my hair. I like it being copper but I just thought it looked a bit dull, the ends were a bit naff and I just wasn't that happy with it. Declan had a look at it and suggest flomboyage, something I'd never heard of but as the ends of my hair were a lot darker than the rest and saturated with colour, the flomboyage would lighten them nicely, creating a much more natural effect than ombre. Declan was absolutely amazing, showing me exactly what was going on my hair, explaining the technique and he put up with me saying a thousand times that I did not want any trace of red in my hair (I wanted copper okay?). I was kept comfy the entire time the dye was on my hair with drinks, magazines and anything else I wanted and before I could see the finished result, my hair needed a lil trim.

After disastrously cutting all my hair off last year (WHY DID I DO THAT) I've been trying to grow it and to be fair it has grown quite a lot. Pont had a look at the cut, asked me exactly what I wanted and how I liked my hair styling and after again I was very specific about my fringe ("I like it messy and not blunt but not too long either") he got to work, cutting the very ends off my hair and getting my fringe exactly how I like it. After he dried my hair with the diffuser I was over the moon with the finished result - it's exactly what my hair needed.

I didn't realise just how dark the ends of my hair were until they were lightened and even with just the very ends off my hair, it looks so much healthier, thicker and is overall much better to style. There isn't a trace of red at all in my hair and it's had so many compliments, despite the change only being subtle. It's true - Blue Tit London are definitely miracle workers and I'd highly recommend them if you're looking to change up your hair! Why oh why do I have to live so far away?!

  3. Love the interior of the place, so inviting!! Your hair looks stunning, girl! I have been struggling with growing out my hair for years now. Not sure if it's due to the fact that I went blonde a while ago or a bad hair cut after which my hair decided to slow down the growth to a minimum 🙈 In any case, it's so great to find a perfect hairdresser/hair stylist!
