Why Sliders Are The Underrated Wardrobe Staple

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a black ankle boot kinda gal and I honestly cannot stop buying them (I have a real problem) but there is a second style of shoe that is slowly creeping its way into my favourites section - the slider. When I first noticed sliders becoming popular a couple of years back, I honestly thought "who the bloody hell is going to wear those?" but now they have become my most worn summer shoe and every time I go on holiday I find myself adding another pair to my collection, the latest being this beautiful pair of UGG sliders.

*UGG KARI SLIDE SANDALS: c/o COGGLES / *BLACK BODYSUIT (similar): c/o NEW LOOK / STRIPED CULOTTES (similar): ZARA / *ALLSAINTS LEATHER JACKET: c/o JOHN LEWIS / *STRIPED WATCH: c/o DANIEL WELLINGTON

I really feel like sliders are underrated in the shoe department. Obviously, all types of sandals are great for during the summer and for holidays but let's be honest, sandals aren't always the comfiest. As much as I love my lace-ups they tear into my poor little feet and when I'm walking around all day that's the last thing I want and as I'm going to Dubrovnik in a couple of weeks, this pair of UGGs came into my life at just the right time.

The UGG Australia Kari sliders are designed to cushion the natural shape of the foot meaning that these bad boys are one of the the comfiest pieces of footwear I have ever worn. Not only can they just be slipped on your feet in the summer to match just about anything, they're so comfy it's like going out wearing your slippers but looking ultra stylish - what more could a girl want, especially when walking around a hot city! Here I've teamed them with my Zara culottes (which you may remember from my Barcelona Lookbook), my all-time favourite leather jacket and a plain bodysuit for a day out in Durham with Karl and although I think sliders are thought of primarily as holiday shoes, they create such a laid-back look it seems silly to only wear them for a couple of weeks of the year!

So I got these babies from Coggles, one of my favourite websites for premium style, whether it's for the current summer season or for the ever looming autumn (I've got my eye on a few jumpers already...). They have so many different UGG sandals to see you through the transition between summer and autumn as in this outfit here and as most of them are currently in the sale you're bound to hit the sandal jackpot there!

What do you think the most underrated wardrobe item is?

  8. I bloomin love Sliders. I mean, I didn't to begin with but once I tried a decent pair on I was instantly converted! I absolutely hate sandles with the Toe post in the middle - so uncomfortable!
