My AW16 Coat Wishlist

As Autumn approaches, my wishlist grows ever longer and although I do love summer style, there's nothing quite like purchasing your first winter coat of the year and cosying up on a chilly October morning. I'm an absolute sucker for a good coat and although this week may have been forecast to be the "hottest of the year" (*rolls eyes*) I've already started planning my looks for AW and of course, coats are first on my list.

During the summer months, coats definitely take a back seat in the world of fashion but I'm pleased to say they're back with a bang. I'm a lover of super chic, staple coats and all of the coats I've included here definitely fit that bill. First up, we have the classic trench coat, a fashion blogger favourite and it's for good reason. There is something ultra luxurious about the trench, especially the traditional beige colour, and for me it's a piece worth investing is as it will take you through Autumn, Winter and Spring, year after year, season after season. They're easy to throw on over the top of literally any outfit whether it's skinny jeans and a jumper or a posh black frock, or if you're feeling really daring, you could wear the coat on its own as a dress. I've seen Suki Waterhouse do it on photos and it looks hot.

Also, we've got a cape style coat, something which I never thought I'd be into but I just love how luxurious it looks, especially in black. I'd kind of feel like a really chic gothic person who should be living in a mansion and I am totally down for that. The final one I'll mention is the checked coat. I love a statement piece especially in the colder months and the check print is so classic for coats, you can't go wrong. Checked coats are real winter coats imo!

All of these simply beautiful coats you see here are from Aquascutum, a brand I only recently discovered and quite simply I'm obsessed. I could spend hours and hours drooling over these beauties (especially that trench *heart eye emoji*) and I just know they'd make the perfect addition to my wardrobe for this AW16.
