#HenryInHolland: Amsterdam with Debenhams, Henry Holland Urban Decay

Late last month, I was lucky enough to be whisked off to Amsterdam along with some other lovely bloggers with Debenhams, Henry Holland and Urban Decay in what was one of the most "pinch me" moments of my blogging career. Laura, Megs, Jess, Patricia and I were chosen to be part of Henry Holland's Girl Tribe and we shot in the beautiful city of Amsterdam for the H! By Henry Holland AW16 Lookbook. I still say that sentence and I'm like "whaaaat are you sure you mean me?!"

Anyway, I had so much fun on the trip so I thought I'd give you a little run down on went on - I'll warn you now you may get food envy!

THE FOOD

When I've talked about Amsterdam before on Salt and Chic, I've always mentioned how great the food in Amsterdam is because there are so many little cafes, crepe restaurants and traditional Dutch food but this time I got a different taste of it (pun definitely intended.) We ate in some simply beautiful restaurants including Restaurant C and Bo Cinq, two places which I'd probably never have gone myself but which I loved all the same. I tried scallops for the first (and not the last!) time and and the dessert you can see in the first photo gave me life. For me, food is a really important part of a trip and I love getting different tastes of the place so I'm so glad we went to places I wouldn't have normally chosen!

THE HOTEL

When we arrived at the airport, we got a car to the hotel we'd be staying in: The Hoxton. I know there's one in London but I'd never stayed there or been inside so I couldn't wait to see what it was like and let me tell you, as soon as I walked in the lobby I knew it would be my dream hotel. Think squishy armchairs, spiral staircases, brick walls, quirky decor and real personality and my room was no different. There was a queen sized bed in the middle of the room (the comfiest hotel bed I have ever ever ever slept in fyi) with a desk, a TV, a clothes rail, vintage style decorations and the cutest little bag for breakfast to be delivered in in the morning. The bathroom was a blogger's dream with rose gold pipes and tiled walls, a huge shower and perfect lighting (obv so important).

When I walked into my room, I found the cutest little package on my bed; a bag filled with Urban Decay goodies, a H! by Henry Holland "Holland" tee, a bracelet left by the hotel and, of course, the clothes I'd be wearing in the shoot the following day. I loved my clothes and although I we did have to make a few changes because of sizing, I know when the AW16 range comes out, I will be all over that!

THE SHOOT

Now, onto the most important part; the shoot. Obviously I can't give too much away - you'll have to wait until the Autumn to see the final shots! After a super early start, we had our make-up done by the very talented girls from Urban Decay, who turned me into a "glowing moon baby" for the shoot, a make-up look which I almost cried washing off at the end of the day! We each had two outfits and were shot by the simply amazing Nadia; we had a sneak peek of the photos and I cannot wait to see the end results! They looked like the coolest shots and "cool" is not a word I would normally use to describe myself!

Amsterdam is a wonderful city and I couldn't think of a better backdrop for an AW campaign. Henry, the Debenhams team, the make-up artists and everyone who we spent time with on the trip were absolutely amazing and I can't thank them all enough for such an amazing opportunity. I'm so pleased to have met the other blogging gals too; as always with bloggers, they were all absolutely amazing girls (and super hot too!!) - if you aren't following them you should be!

Thanks again to Debenhams and Henry Holland for having me along as part of the Girl Tribe and to Urban Decay for my simply wonderful make-up!
