I'll be the first to admit that I'm a huge make-up junkie and if there was one thing I was going to spend a lot of money on it would be beauty products. Isn't there just something mesmerising about beautiful packaging, soft lipsticks, coloured palettes and bottles of mascara? I could spend hours upon hours walking around Harrods, looking at all of the amazing beauty products that are at our fingertips and Estee Lauder is undoubtedly one of the brands that I could easily fill my make-up collection with. However, even though I wouldn't hesitate to spend any of my spare cash on a new make-up palette, it's always nice to get a freebie and gifts with purchase don't get much better than this Estee Lauder bag of goodies that is currently available at Harrods!
So, until the 19th July 2016, when you spend £75 or more on Estee Lauder at Harrods, you will receive this lovely grey tote bag filled with make-up goodies absolutely free. Now, at first glance £75 may seem like a lot to spend in one go but if you're a make-up lover like I know most of you are, you'll know that £75 is easily spent when you're restocking your favourite foundation or trying out a new lippy. Also, when the free gift is as good as this, £75 is actually pretty reasonable. As you can see, not only do you get the bag and matching passport holder (which would be an amazing gift just on its own!) you get some simply amazing full size Estee Lauder goodies that normally you'd have to spend even more on to get.
Inside the bag you get the following: ReNutriv Age Correcting Creme, Sumptuous Extreme Mascara, Gold Compact with 9 shades of eyeshadow, Double-Wear Eye Pencil In Onyx, ReNutriv Creme Cleanser, Pure Colour Long-lasting Lipstick in Pinkberry, Little Black Primer and the bag and passport holder. Phew! I knew straight away when I opened the bag that these were going to come in handy as although some of them are full size, like the lipstick, the mascara and primer are 2.8ml so they're going to be perfect for popping in my hand luggage for my Barcelona trip in a few weeks. You all know the pain of squeezing loads of full size make-up into those dreadful plastic bags! Also, as I've said before, free gifts and small samples sizes are a really fab way to try out new products before you commit to buying, especially when they're high end products like from Estee Lauder. I got to trying the make-up bits and pieces immediately and I have fallen in love.
As you can see, the look I created using the palette is so wearable and natural. You all know how hard it is to achieve the "no make-up make-up look" but the lighter shades in the palette are perfect for it. Obviously there are the darker and more pink shades included too and I haven't gotten around to creating a look with them just yet but they look stunning from when I've swatched them. This is such a welcome addition to my eyeshadow collection as when it comes to make-up, I'm a bit of a matte addict and it takes some persuasion to get me to buy anything with a bit of shimmer or shine. The shades in the palette are really shimmery and although you can't see it much from the photo, they have a glitter effect in the light meaning they're the perfect shades to take on holiday and I can't wait to get experimenting!
The primer and the mascara get another big thumbs up from me and I'll admit now that I really underestimated the power of a lash primer. I hate false eyelashes and in all honesty, I just cannot put them on so a good mascara is one of my essential beauty products. I know some people manage to make false eyelashes look amazing but I just can't get them to work on me! Luckily, there are some great mascaras out there and this is one of them. I didn't think the primer would make much of a difference but I think that it lenghthened my lashes so much and as it seperated my lashes before I put the mascara itself on, it prevented any clumps forming and stopped the wrath of the "spider lashes" (you know what I'm talking about!). The lipstick shade is also perfect for my skin tone and as I said above, it's nice when I finally get swayed into liking something that doesn't have a matte finish!
I haven't gotten around to trying the skincare products included in the gift yet as I'm not sure they'll be right for my skin type but I'll get back to you ASAP when I give them a go! If you're wanting to try any of the skincare products included in the bag I'd definitely recommend getting your hands on this gift as the products alone can be very pricy so it's always nice to try them first before you commit to spending such a large amount on one item!
I think this goes down as one of the best make-up freebies I have ever seen and I say that honestly, cross my heart, hope to die. I expected maybe a few sample sizes of one or two products in the bag so I was thrilled to discover the treasure trove of Estee Lauder inside!
Spend £75 on Estee Lauder at Harrods to claim your goodies!
