We're now deep into May and although it means exams are definitely on the horizon, it also means we can start looking forward to our summer holidays. Yup, the sea, sun and sand are almost within reach and that only means one thing - holiday shopping. Holiday accessories are one of my favourite things to shop for as it means pretty hats, nice sandals and chic sunglasses so here are a few of the things I want to get my little hands on before I go on my first summer trip.
First up we obviously have the sandals. Sandals are something we all need, regardless of what your holiday style is and they're really the only style of shoes I ever take on holiday. I look for three things when I'm buying summer sandals; comfort, versatility and of course, style. That's why Birkenstocks is one of my go-to brands for summer shoes. Their super chic stylers not only look amazing with just about any summer clothes, but they're the comfiest shoes ever so you don't need to worry about nasty blisters or rubbing straps. They're just an all around win. The other two pairs are from Jones Bootmaker own brand of ladies sandals - aren't they the most chic pairs of sandals you've ever seen?! They both look so expensive, particularly the grey pair and what I love most about them is that they would be so easy to take from day to night, something which is essential when you're trying to pack light. Jones Bootmaker have some amazing summer shoes in from Birkenstocks to FitFlops and I'm definitely going to be ordering before my trip to Barcelona!
Another obvious essential for the summer are the sunglasses. Whether you're leaving the country or not, a great pair of sunglasses can really transform an outfit and add an element of luxury, whether they cost you £7 or £70. Aviators are one of my favourite styles of sunnies because they're just so timeless - no matter what year or season or anything else, aviators will always be a good choice. Sometimes though, it's nice to switch it up a bit and the Tom Ford square pair I've featured here would be great to match an indie outfit at a festival. Both of these pairs are available from My Glasses Guru, an online optician stocking brands of glasses and sunglasses for all needs and budgets - they even have a super cool tool that matches you to the perfect pair of sunglasses for your face shape and skin tone and I got matched with the Tom Ford Aviators. Is that a sign I need to buy them???
Finally, the amazing swimsuits have got to get a mention. I mean, how flippin cute is the cactus swimsuit? What I love about this is that it could easily be worn as a bodysuit with a pair of denim shorts - no one would even know it was a swimsuit! That way, you're ready for a dip in the sea no matter what.
What's on your summer accessories wishlist?
