#WhichGolaAreYou

Over the past year or so I've fallen back in love with trainers. I did go through a stage where I didn't actually own any trainers at all *gasps in horror* and now that my wardrobe is full of them, I'm struggling to remember what I wore on an everyday basis. Sure we all love a pair of ankle boots or a pair of statement sandals but the classic trainer is something that everyone needs in their wardrobe, whether it's for comfort or for style. For me, the trainers are a double whammy; they can be incorporated into trends season after season whilst also being comfortable and fit to wear on a daily basis and Gola trainers are absolutely perfect for this. In today's post, I'm styling two different outfits with trainers and answering the question #WhichGolaAreYou and it has got to be the classic suede.

I'm definitely a "classic trainer" kind of gal and Gola has got this style down to a tee. The classic Harrier trainer dates back to the late 60s meaning it has a little bit of a retro vibe thanks to the iconic Gola stripes and sporty shape. However, for me it's the suede that makes it. The luxurious texture gives the trainers that real "fashion" look (I know all you bloggers will get what I mean!) and the light grey shade is perfect for minimalistic styling.

For this first outfit, I've gone for a grungy, 90s look which is bang on trend for SS16. Black frayed denim is great for perfecting the 90s so this ASOS dress is a real gem here. Like I said above, I've only started incorporating trainers back into my style in the last year or so meaning I'm only just beginning to dare to pair them with anything other than jeans. The classic Harriers really compliment this dress and make it super wearable for an everyday outfit without absolutely killing your feet and I got through an entire day shopping without once complaining my feet hurt. I think that's the beauty of classic style trainers like this. They can be teamed with just about anything if you think outside the traditional box of jeans and a tee meaning otherwise smart or dressy outfits can be worn casually and as you'll see in the next outfit, this extends well beyond dresses.

See what I mean about how a pair of classic trainers can really transform an outfit? Without these Gola beauts, this outfit would be quite smart. I mean, it is a pair of trousers and a shirt after all! However, the trainers really loosen up the whole look and when teamed with a messy hair style and lived in make up, what you get is a sporty yet smart vibe, a look which I've been loving recently. This pair of Harriers is navy blue, another colour perfect for the minimalists among us and as I'm sure you're well aware, navy and grey are fashion blogger favourites when it comes to basic colours.

So it's safe to say that when it comes to Gola trainers, I am definitely a classic suede Harrier kinda gal. I've always had a soft spot for suede and the soft, luxurious colours these two pairs of trainers are in just makes me swoon. You can check out the Gola women's trainers here and answer the #WhichGolaAreYou question for yourself but be warned - you will want to buy them when you find them!
