Tie Neck

Aren't I looking a bit more polished than usual today in this ever so smart Zara blouse?! This was actually a Boxing Day sales purchase but last week was the first opportunity I've had to wear it but I think it was worth the wait. I think it was reduced down to about £20 and although I was a bit unsure about it when I first bought it, after a lot of deliberation I'm really glad I bought it - I think I can just about pull off the whole neck tie thang!

The thing that really attracted me to this blouse was the seventies vibe that it gives off. The colour is a deep burgundy red with white ditsy spots on that are just adorable. The neck tie also screams seventies but I'll admit that I absolutely suck at tying them how they're supposed to be. Some people are just so great at tying them in that real pussy-bow knot - not me. I gave up trying to make it look really feminine so just tied it around my neck as if it were a seventies-esque skinny scarf and I'm actually really pleased with how it looks! It may not be how it was meant to go but hey, fashion is all about putting your own spin on things right?!

Of course, this blouse could be worn with black tailored trousers and smart shoes for a work look or a really smart, formal outfit but I chose to dress it down with ripped jeans, some ankle boots and my FCUK trench. This is something I love to do with formal pieces - I simply don't go enough places to wear things like this purely for "dressy" occasions or anything like that so I like to dress them down and wear them casually instead.
