So this is the third and final outfit I'll be posting from New York and after this I'll be back to the boring backdrop of my lil old hometown (sobs). This outfit is definitely one that you'd imagine seeing in the city; the grey waterfall coat is an absolute classic for keeping warm and looking stylish in freezing temperatures and teamed with the navy and cream hues, it stays simple but is by no means boring.
You may have noticed that in each of my New York outfits, I'm wearing the same pair of boots *shock horror!* but that is one of my main tips for city break dressing; find one pair of versatile and comfortable shoes that you can take with you. Shoes can be very heavy, especially if you're travelling in the winter months, and they can take up a lot of your luggage allowance. I wore these boots to travel in as well meaning they didn't take up any space at all and I had more room in my case for the essentials (as well as room to bring back half of Sephora with me).
I love the colour theme in this outfit. The soft grey of the coat, the dark navy of the Radley bag and the washed blue of the Joni jeans all work perfectly together to create the perfect toned down city break outfit. The coat is a recent purchase of mine from Missguided, a brand I've been turning to more and more for coats, and as it comes in at just £30 this is an absolute steal. It's not overly thick so it'll take me right through Spring as well as the colder months but what I love most about it is that I can layer it with thicker jumpers. A lot of thick coats can't be put over the top of heavy jumpers as they can make you feel constricted so this one is perfect for layering. It's also super light so can easily fit in any suitcase!
Watch out for my New York photo diaries coming next week - there are some fabulous views that should not be missed!
