Hello everyone! Considering Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I've got a bit of a bumper post for you today with a little bit of everything going on. I've got the perfect Valentine's Day dress that is not red, a make up look, a cute little gift idea and a wishlist so you might want to grab a cuppa for this one!
When it comes to Valentine's Day outfits, sometimes we can struggle to think outside the box and automatically reach for the red dresses. Of course, there's nothing wrong with red and red dresses can be absolutely smokinnnn' but for me, they're not the one. I like a little bit of red here and there but red dresses have never really been my thing so I opted for something a bit different. This cream textured dress from New Look is definitely more up my street. In typical Valentine's fashion, it's pretty, feminine and fitted but what really does it for me is the subtle detailing. The fringing along the hem and the zig zag texture are what really sold the dress to me along with the fact that after wearing it for an occasion, it can be worn with chunky boots and a leather jacket for my trademark feminine but edgy look.
For the make up look to go with the outfit I used my new favourite foundation which is the NARS All Day Luminous Foundation in the shade Siberia, mixed with a little of the L'Oreal Infallible foundation in the shade Vanilla, just to get the perfect shade for my skin. I used my MAC burgundy eyeshadow palette and Collection liquid eyeliner for my eyes and Benefit's High Beam highlighter and Sugarbomb blush for my contour, with a little of the Topshop powder highlight in Sunbeam over the top. If anyone would like to see a YouTube tutorial for this make up look just let me know! I'm never sure whether to do them or not as I'm not the greatest mua!
Anyway, my Valentine's Day wouldn't be complete without some super adorable, matchy matchy couples mugs and this Yours and Mine Mug Set from New Look is just the cutest, as my mum and dad demonstrate above. I mean, if you don't want matching couple's dressing gowns or Mr and Mrs. slippers, matching mugs are the next best thing aren't they?!
And the mugs lead us onto the final part of the post which is my Valentine's Day wishlist. New Look's Valentine's Day Collection is absolutely dreamy and these are but a few of my favourite pieces. Of course, lingerie is essential for any Valentine's Day, no matter whether you've got a partner or not and I know I just feel like a million dollars wearing a beautiful set of matching undies. This pair of pale blue beauties is right up my street with the triangle style and floral detailing! However, my favourite thing from the wishlist must be the pale pink skirt. Romantic pinks and pastels will be everywhere for SS16 and if you don't want to wear a dress for Valentine's, this skirt is the next best thing. I'm so tempted to get it in a cheeky Valentine's Day order for myself!
What will you be wearing for Valentine's Day?
