Another day, another pair of amazing boots making their blog debut. In case you hadn't noticed, I cannot resist a new pair of boots and have made a lot of new additions to my shoe collection recently and this pair of patent black beauts are my newest loves. New Look challenged me to pair a some of their new boots with some old favourites from my wardrobe so of course, this patent pointed pair caught my eye immediately. I'm a sucker for a pair of black boots as it is and these ones are just perfect for everyday wear in the winter. Plus the fact that they are pointed means that I could justify them being my fifth pair of black boots right?!
So, for the throwback part of my outfit, I chose to pair the boots with my favourite combo; jeans and a jumper. It's true that these jeans are only a few months old but I felt I could justify them as a "throwback" as I only got them to replace my old beloved ripped jeans which I'd had for years. I had to part with them as they were so worn and faded I just couldn't justify wearing them anymore (RIP favourite jeans) so this pair are simply an update. Jeans and a pair of ankle boots are just such a classic combination that you can't really go wrong with and it lets the boots do most of the talking! The black jumper is a real throwback but it's still one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. It sets the boots off fantastically and the high neck makes it the perfect basic knit to cosy up in on a cold day. A faux fur coat is another winter classic and the whole look together makes for a perfect casual yet city chic look for a freezing cold winter's day.
For me, this type of black ankle boot is absolutely essential, not only for the winter, but for all year around. I do like to pair them with a classic jeans and a jumper combo as I have done here but my favourite thing about black boots is that they can be basically worn with anything. I like to pair mine with pretty dresses that might be made for going out. This dresses them down and grunges them up a little bit so they can be worn during the day after you've worn them for that night out, meaning you can get as much wear out of them as you want! I'm not the type of girl who wears things once for a night out and then never wears them again!
You can check out New Look's amazinggg boot collection on their website where these babies were only £29.99! How would you wear your pair of classic black ankle boots?

I'm obsessed with that clutch.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I still have a pair of jeans from ten years ago which are so worn and ripped (not originally ripped) and still wear around the house. I'd probably wear them out if my mom hadn't done something weird to cover the knee with material from the torn-up hem... it just got weird. I have new fave jeans, but it's NEVER THE SAME.
