I've made it no secret that I absolutely love this time of year and the run up to Christmas is my favourite. I spend all of December looking forward to the big day but when it's actually arrived and is underway I do get a little sad that all of the festive build up is over! Here are just a few of the things I love about Christmas and December as a whole!
Cosy nights in
Isn't there just something so satisfying about sitting next to the fire with the Christmas lights on, watching the festive telly with a cuppa tea and some gingerbread biscuits? It's freezing cold outside with snow (or rain if you're from the UK!) lashing against the window and you're all warm inside snuggled in your dressing gown. Bliss. Wynsors sent me a lovely little Christmas night in package which had everything I needed, including hot chocolate, this lovely pink festive blanket, some Christmas lanterns and, of course, the traditional Christmas slippers, which incidentally brings me onto my next point...
New nightwear
What's Christmas if you haven't got your mits on a new pair of pyjamas and a new pair of slippers? This tartan pair from Wynsors are just what I needed in my life - they're so comfy and are that lovely shoe style, so they don't fall off your feet every time you walk down the stairs, something which gets slippers a big thumbs up from me! I've been living in my fluffy bear dressing gown from Asda too - you just can't beat a fleecy dressing gown on a stormy night.
Christmas films
One word. Elf. Nothing beats watching Will Ferrell dressed as Buddy the Elf try to get through everyday life ("Buddy the Elf, what's your favourite colour?") but a few of my other favourites are The Nightmare Before Christmas (although I do watch that all year around), The Polar Express and the Santa Clause. Classics.
The sweets
When else is it acceptable to eat a piece of chocolate with your breakfast? When else is it acceptable to eat your way through an entire box of "sharing" Celebrations? I also love how literally everything becomes Christmas themed and chocolate seems to taste much better when it's in the shape of a snowman right?
The atmosphere
In the build up to Christmas it's the atmosphere which really makes it fun. Everyone seems so much happier and there's just something in the air making everything seem that little bit more special. We have an "elf on the shelf" in our house for my sister, named Sparkle Candy Cane and it's always good fun seeing what mischief she got up to in the night (including cutting holes in my dad's underwear hehe!)
The presents
Okay I'd be lying if I didn't include the presents in this. I love receiving presents (if you say you don't you're lying) but I also love buying them. Christmas is the one time of the year where you can go out and really spoil people and get them surprises they've really been wanting. I also love wrapping presents and take pride in making my wrapping as neat and pretty as possible. This year, my theme is pink and brown paper - it's almost a shame to rip them open as I take so much time wrapping them!
The sales
I both love and hate the sales. I love a good bargain and Boxing Day is prime time for getting half price Boots sets and that pair of expensive pyjamas that you've been wanting all year but you've gotta be prepared to fight to the death. Prepare for being pushed, shoved, hit with bags and basically watching everyone turn savage, as if they're Gremlins that have been fed after midnight. I steer clear of the sales on Boxing Day and go the day after to avoid the biggest sale savages!
What are your favourite things about Christmas?

I feel really cosy and warm after reading this! I love pretty much every point you've covered too! I usually brave the Boxing Day sales, but only certain places - I can't face the savages in Topshop and a River Island for a couple of days!
