AllSaints Leather Jacket

Leather jackets are an ultimate staple in any wardrobe no matter what your usual style is. I think I've had at least one in my coat collection since I was about 10! In my opinion, they're one of the easiest thing to style too as they look great with just about anything and when I say anything, I mean anything. I've worn mine with cute dresses, with jeans, with skirts, with jumpers...you name it and you can style it with a leather jacket. John Lewis were kind enough to send me over this simply stunning leather jacket from AllSaints, a brand which is right up my street. 

As I'm sure you already know, AllSaints is the brand to go to when you want high quality, edgy, staple pieces for your wardrobe and the leather jackets are no exception. This is undoubtedly the nicest leather jacket I've ever owned and the difference in quality to my previous cheaper ones is unbelievable. Granted it is a bit pricier than I'd usually pay for a coat but in my opinion an investment like this is 100% worth it when considering that this is a jacket that will last me literally years. The fit is what really won me over. I don't know about anyone else but I sometimes find leather jackets to be a bit restrictive and uncomfortably tight. That is not the case for this one as it's not fitted at all around the waist or the shoulders, instead hanging loosely. This fit is much more flattering and easier to wear as you can actually wear it over the top of jumpers without feeling like you're going to turn into a diamond. Plus, I think the loose fit gives that little bit more edge - it looks much more "biker" and can easily grunge up an outfit!

I chose to style the jacket with a good ol' monochrome look. Of course I had to include the striped top. Stripes are an absolute saviour and I just love the way they look with a leather jacket - it's such a classic, timeless combo that I will never, ever get tired of. I had to finish the whole look off with my MAC Russian Red lipstick too - monochrome, stripes and red lipstick? Can you think of a better combination on a dreary winter day? Nope, me neither.
