The Sunday Post: #NewLeaf

Hey everyone and Happy Sunday! Today's Sunday Post is just a little update about some of the super exciting things that have happened this week, along with a few photos from the intu Metro Centre event I attended on Wednesday for a sneak peek of the brand new House of Fraser store. The event was very fittingly called New Leaf which is perfect for the event and this post; new styles for A/W and new and exciting things happening for me and Salt and Chic!

So as I mentioned last week, last Sunday was my birthday and I had the absolute best day, thanks to amazing friends and family. I was well and truly spoilt and ate lots of food, which is what birthdays are all about of course! Thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook!

I also found out I got the job at Topshop which I'm absolutely over the moon about! Topshop is my favourite high street store by a long way and most of my clothes come from there anyway so it's a job that's right up my street and will balance nicely along with uni and my blog. Hello discount!!

Finally before I get onto the event, I found out I have made the shortlist for the North East Blogger Awards for the Best InstaBlogger!! I am absolutely over the moon to be shortlisted so a massive thank you for every single person who nominated me. Some other amazing bloggers have also been shortlisted including my lovelies Laura, Amy, Helen and Lucy - I can't wait for the awards ceremony already!!

So onto the event. If you're from the North East no doubt you'll already know that the House of Fraser store in the Metro Centre is currently undergoing a big renovation. A few of us bloggers were invited along to the store last Wednesday for a little sneak peek of what's to come as it's so close to the grand opening. We were treated to champers and nibbles from the new restaurant (opening this weekend!) in the brand new Michael Kors section of the store and told about the exciting new brands which are on their way to House of Fraser, including Whistles, NARS, Urban Decay, Jo Malone and so many more. We were then given a little peek of the Jo Malone section and although it wasn't quite ready we go the idea and let me tell you it is going to be fab. The Whistles section is also so dreamy but my bank balance is begging me not to spend - I mean, look at the slogan jumper!

We then took our seats around the Fashion Live catwalk and got a sneak preview of things to come in A/W in the Metro Centre, from brands including Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins and Simply Be, all of which showcased some fantastic A/W looks. All of the clothes can be purchased in the Metro Centre, so if you fancy any of them, get yourself there! I love the Metro Centre events; you just know they're going to put on a good show and it's always full of absolutely lovely north east bloggers. Plus the goodie bag was amazeballs (yes I did just use the term amazeballs seriously), including goodies from Creme De La Mer, Molton Brown, Clarins, Aveda and so much more. I mean wow!

Thanks intu Metro Centre and House of Fraser for a brilliant night!
