Freshers Week is happening all over the country and students have either moved back to their universities or they are moving away for the first time to start the next chapter in their lives. Exciting right?! Whether you're going to university, starting college or going to continue your A Levels, a new school year has started and we all know what that means; new clothes are essential. Student budgets can be tight with low student loans and high accomodation costs, so signing up to Unidays is absolutely essential to save money. They offer discounts on brands such as Apple (which was a saviour for me when buying my MacBook), Topshop, Missguided, Boohoo and so many more and it really is worth it. Of course, New Look is one of those brands that us students can save big on and they are currently offering a whopping 20% off, just in time for student loans!
So, New Look sent me and Karl some vouchers over so we could put together an A/W Freshers Lookbook to show you all how we styled some looks which are perfect for getting you through university.
This look is right up Karl's street. He's a very casual dresser so checked shirts are perfect for his style and to make it more Autumn appropriate with the chilly weather, he chose to layer it with a plain grey t-shirt. Perfect for going to back to college when teamed with some classic black trainers!
Having key pieces in your wardrobe is essential year around and this pair of black jeans is a perfect example. They can be styled up in so many different ways and here Karl has again done a little bit of layering, styling a classic white shirt with a black jumper. It's the perfect "smart casual" look and could easily be dressed up for a night out during freshers with a simple change of footwear.
The best thing about this outfit that Karl chose is the colours. Aren't they just perfect for autumn? Karl almost matches the autumnal backdrop perfectly with the khaki jumper and the brown shoes (and of course, the very autumnal ginger hair and beard!) I couldn't find the exact jumper on the New Look website so have linked a similar one above which is just as perfect for this time of year and again, Karl shows us how versatile a pair of good ol' black jeans can really be.
Now to finish off, Karl chose a real winter outfit, perfect for keeping warm on the cold morning walks to lectures or classes. I think the beauty of bomber jackets like this is that they are perfect all year round. Wear them on the coldest days of winter layered with a jumper and some knitted accessories like Karl has done here, or wear them with a simple white tee underneath in the spring. Yet another wardrobe staple.
Which is your favourite look? Stay tuned to see my lookbook tomorrow!
Also give our YouTube video a watch - it's the first one we've ever done together with a bit of messing around so do give it a watch and let me know what you think! Watch it here.
