Out of all of the questions I get asked, the most frequently asked questions are usually about my hair. The hair care and styling essentials I use change all of the time depending on what I want from my hair and currently I'm trying to grow it. I started growing my fringe out a few months ago and I'm also trying to grow my hair down to my shoulders which is an absolute pain. You know when you regret ever cutting your hair off because now it's at that awkward length between chin and shoulder length? Yup, that's me right now and I am so annoyed with it! Anyway I've fallen in love with some new products that have really been helping my hair through this difficult time (dramatic? Me? never!) so I've included all of them in this post.
So first up, I've got the *Loreal Professionnel Pro Keratin Masque. Since I cut my hair short, I felt the condition deteriorated due to the amount of extremely hot styling products I used on it. Short hair can be much harder to style without heat products because the ends of mine just seem to flick out and I look like one of the Whos from the Grinch (not an exaggeration at all). I use this mask a couple of times a week when I wash my hair and leave it on for about 5 minutes after shampooing. It's such a thick formula so you really don't need that much of it to cover your whole head and I noticed a difference straight awat after the first time I used it. Now I've been using it for around 4 weeks and my hair is a hell of a lot sleeker and healthier, which has hopefully helped it to grow a bit more!
If you haven't heard of the Tangle Teezer where have you been for the last 3 years?! They have shot to fame in the beauty world and I can't believe I've only just got my hands on one! I know it's really bad to use ordinary brushes on wet hair but I really struggle to get my comb through it when it's wet so I always found myself tearing through my hair with my £1 Primark brush - bad blogger! The Tangle Teezer is so much better on my wet hair and really does just glide through it, without pulling on any knots and tangles. It's such an essential tool for overall healthy hair!
I know I said I was trying to cut down on heat products, but there are two styling products I just couldn't do without at the moment, the first of which is the *Dive Ionic Heated Brush. I don't know about anyone else with short hair, but I find my hair can sometimes look just a bit flat and boring if I don't do something with it after washing. I've been letting my hair dry naturally until it's half dry, and then using the heated brush to curl the roots of my hair under, giving it a bit of bounce and volume. The difference it makes is phenomenal, depsite the fact it took me weeks to actually learn how to use it properly and lots of googling of "how to use hot air brushes", but it is worth it if you can get the hang of it!
And finally, we've got my trusty Rose Gold GHD straighteners. Karl got me these for Christmas and I couldn't do without them now. There's not really much I need to say about them because I'm sure you're all very aware of how great GHDs are; they heat up quickly, they straighten your hair within minutes, they're easy to use and best of all, they're rose gold. I did have a bit of a disaster with them a few weeks ago though when my new puppy Harry chewed right through the wire. I literally almost cried, as you can imagine, but fear not, my dad came to the rescue and took them to get a new plug put on the now considerably shorter wire. Disaster just about averted!
What hair products have you been using recently?

The Tangle Teezer is so good at not pulling out a bajillion hairs! The best thing I found for growing my hair is to just plait it or put it in a bun, it really helps to prevent unnecessary breakage!

I have been trying to grow my hair for about two years now and all though it's getting longer I still have quite a way to go before I'm happy with it. I'll definitely be taking on board your tips though and hopefully it will start to grow a little quicker! x
