The Sunday Post: Starting A YouTube Channel
A few weeks ago, I did something I've wanted to do for a while and started my own YouTube channel. It's something I've been thinking about for at least the past few months but have never actually had the courage to do for a number of reasons; will people find my north east accent annoying? Will I be too awkward for the camera? How will I edit the videos? All of these doubts kept running through my mind until one day I just thought to myself "I can do it" and I pressed the publish button on my first video.
I was both terrified and excited thinking about how great it would be to get my confidence up enough to start YouTube properly and I'm really hoping I can do it. I know that if I didn't at least try it, I would do nothing but regret it and if I fail and it doesn't take off or if I don't enjoy it, I can say to myself at least you tried. I've got a few ideas of videos I want to create floating around in my head so I'm hoping to get those done in the next few weeks and get into a regular schedule uploading videos. I do still feel a bit like a technophobe when I'm editing and I'll admit I'm still a complete newbie to anything video related but hey, we've all gotta start somewhere right?
I uploaded my Amsterdam Video Diary a few days ago and it's a video I'm actually really proud of and I definitely think it's my best effort so far. Not only that, making videos like this is a great way to store memories and I actually really enjoyed creating this one! I've put it into this post so please do give it a watch and let me know your thoughts!
It would mean the world to me if you could subscribe to my channel by clicking here and I'd love to know your thoughts on my videos so far! Also, if you have any suggestions of videos you'd like to see from me in the future leave them in the comments below or tweet me @a_daawg - I'd really appreciate it!

Well done, the video is really good! I'd like to do one eventually but I don't think i have the guts, and I'm scared how I'd come across on camera!

You're so brave! I find the prospect of starting a YouTube channel terrifying! I've set myself a goal that when I get to 500 followers on bloglovin or GFC then I'll start my channel. It's giving me a bit of motivation! Just subscribed to your channel by the way, I'm you 115th subscriber :) x

Congrats on the channel, I'm going to check out your videos when I get home, I started my own one earlier this year and then stopped Youtube and Blogging because of money issues, but I'm getting back on track and I'm going to try my hardest to go at it full pelt. I've got a very strange accent due to moving around as a child so I completely understand the accent worries! :)

It is so daunting posting your first video. It's scary because the YT community is much larger and more critical. Amazing video btw, i subscribed :)
