Six Essential Apps For Bloggers

There are some apps on my phone and iPad that I just could not be without. I mean, imagine a world without Instagram *gasps in horror*. Is it even worth thinking about? Anyway there are certain apps that I've found really useful as fashion blogger and others that I've just found really fun to have so I thought I'd share my favourite apps with you guys.

1. S O C I A L   M E D I A
Let's get the obvious ones out of the way first. I won't ramble about how essential social media is to both bloggers and non-bloggers as I'm sure you're all very much aware of how big it is these days! My essential social media apps have got to be Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I know a lot of people use Pinterest and the like but I just can't get into it! I really should try and use it as I know how popular it is now but for now I constantly find myself refreshing my Instagram feed, looking at all of the OOTDs and what everyone had for lunch - I love it! Not only are they great to connect with other bloggers on, these forms of social media are essential for promoting your own blog. Most of my traffic comes from either Twitter or Instagram so they really have been essential for me.

2. D R O P B O X
I've had Dropbox for quite a while now and my god I don't know what I'd do without it. iPhone cameras are all well and good but sometimes they just don't make the cut and I don't feel like you can really get the same quality of photo as you can on a DSLR. So when my 5c camera just isn't good enough for the photo I want to take, Dropbox allows me to upload a photo taken on my Canon and I can download them straight to my phone without all of the syncing business on iTunes (we all know how painful that process can be!). It's a simple difference but it makes things a hell of a lot simpler.

3. C O M B
Comb is an app I've just downloaded a few weeks ago and I'm obsessed with it! I first found out about it when I was in Croatia and met one of Comb's founders, Liam. He told me all about it and I'm so impressed with it! Comb is described as a Shazam for fashion - simply take a photo of an item you like that someone is wearing, upload it to the app and the app will search it's huge database and come up with either that exact item or similar pieces. How freakin' cool?! What's more, you can buy the item straight through the app or save it to your profile to come back to later. A must for any of the fashion savvy!

4. F E E L S
Feels is another app that I've just downloaded and is another relatively new app that only launched a couple of months ago. Feels, in partnership with Storm Models, is an app which allows you to upload your photos, tag brands to your outfit and publish the look to be discovered by brands and agencies. People can "feel" your look, comment and your look can even trend and you can have a scroll through the feeds to see other user's gorgeous looks and photos. The app has a casting section which has a list of all of the companies or brands looking for faces to be part of their campaign. For example, Drop Dead Clothing are currently looking for new faces and you simply upload your photo directly to that section and if you're lucky enough to be spotted, they'll be able to get in touch with you.

5. V S C O C A M
One of the questions I get asked the most on social media is what do I use to edit my photos. I don't edit directly on the Instagram app as I find the filters to be too harsh so I edit them first on a little app called Vsco and it is a life saver. You can do all of the basic things like edit contrast and brightness but my favourite thing about it is the filters. They're much softer and complimentary than the Instagram ones and I just find them to be much nicer on the photo. Plus you can alter the intensity of each filter so if it's a bit too much for you, you can tone it down. I've tried loads of other photo editing apps and this is my all time favourite for sure.

6. W H I T A G R A M
Ever wonder how some Instagram users get the neat white border around their photos? Look no further because Whitagram is without a doubt the cleanest and easiest way to do it. I think it costs 69p or something on the App Store but it's much more efficient and easier to use than the other ones I've tried.

What are your favourite apps?
