Pamper Time With Lush Oxford Street
Along with the rest of the world, I'm a huge fan (read: absolute and complete addict) of Lush Cosmetics and can never resist a good pamper night with their uh-mazing bath bombs and lotions and potions and everything else they brighten up our lives with. As I'm sure a lot of you already know, Lush opened a brand new store on Oxford Street back in April, a store which is 13 times larger than their average store size including some amazing features such as a Hair Lab, a Lush spa and fountains for experimenting with the products! They've also launched a boat load of products exclusive to their Oxford Street store and living way up in the North East, you can imagine my pain at being a four hour train journey away!
The lovely guys over at Lush were kind enough to send me a few bits and pieces from the Oxford Street selection so I quickly ordered myself a much needed pamper night and oh boy, did I do it in style!
The *Dragon Bubble Bar in the first photo has got to be one of my favourite products and if it was available throughout the country, I'm sure it would become one of my holy grails! Simply hold the stick under the running tap for a little bit and it creates a lovely glittery, red and bubbly bath which also happens to smell divine! The *Lime Pastille Buttercups have been a nice surprise for me as this kind of melt aren't what I usually go for when I'm on a Lush spree but I actually liked them! They turned my bath a lovely deep green colour and although I did need to use two as I have quite a big bath, the end bath was as fabulous as any other Lush bath!
Next up we have the traditional Lush soaps and shower gels. Now I'm sure you're all very aware of how great the Lush soaps are so I'm not going to spend too long talking about the *Oxford Street Soap and the *Respect Your Elders Soap. I will say how blooming cute the little Oxford Street one is though - I mean you'd just have to pick one up from the Oxford Street store wouldn't you?! Anyway they both smell beautiful, though I do prefer the Respect Your Elders one as I think it has a little bit of spice to it! Again it's the same with the *Lord Of Misrule Shower Cream; I have no doubt we've all tried at least one of Lush's shower gels (Snow Fairy anyone?!) so this is a perfect bright and summery alternative, and is a little creamier than the ordinary gel, leaving skin so smooth and soft!
Another winner for me for any pamper night is the *Tangled Hot Oil Hair Treatment, which I will admit I didn't have a clue how to use when it arrived and I actually had to google it to find out how (oops!) Anyway, turns out it's a bit like one of those hot chocolate sticks; simply add a few drops of water from the kettle to this (Lush recommends using one of their tubs) and stir until it turns into a thick hot paste. I then smothered it all over my hair and left for twenty minutes before rinsing off and my oh my was I impressed. My hair has been lacking a little bit of something recently so I had high hopes for this and I wasn't disappointed. It contains jojoba oil which gives your hair a bit of shine and with the sweet scent my hair has never felt so nourished! This is definitely a must buy if your hair is in need of TLC!
I've heard so much about Lush's shampoos but have never actually tried one so I couldn't wait to give the *Jersey Bounce Shampoo a try. It contains egg, lemon and sea salt to give your hair a bit of volume and it really worked for me. I probably wouldn't recommend it if you have really dry hair as it does kind of coat it but for me this really helped give my sometimes flat hair a bit of oomph!
And finally we've saved the best until last. Enter, *the Experimenter Bath Bomb. Bath bombs are what Lush is famous for and this one does not disappoint. The smell is quite strong but not overpowering as some can be and my god is the effect in the bath pretty! You can see all of the rainbow colours in the photo but it really does not do it justice! The bath looked fit for a sparkly unicorn by the time the bath bomb had done it's stuff! This is one that I really, really, really wish was available elsewhere in the UK and may overtake my beloved Phoenix Rising as my favourite bath bomb!
Anyway I have to mention my favourite thing about Lush; the fact that they are completely cruelty free. After the horrors of animal cruelty that have been in the news these past few weeks, it's always refreshing to see brands making a conscious effort to prevent such cruelty and when they make products as good as this, we really cannot fault them!
Have you been lucky enough to visit the Oxford Street Lush store? I'm desperate to go!
