So last weekend was my 21st birthday (October 4th to be precise) so I thought I'd do a little Sunday post with a few photos from the weekend. I had an absolutely amazing birthday so I'd like to say thank you to everyone who made it special and for all of the birthday wishes!

Firstly I must mention my A M A Z I N G Harry Potter cake. Need I say anymore? Being the biggest Harry Potter nerd there ever was, and I mean the biggest, this was the perfect cake for me and I was and still am absolutely over the moon with it. The Golden Snitch even said "I open at the close" on the back! It was almost too good to eat but I can safely say it has been absolutely demolished now and it was tasty.

On the Friday I went for a family dinner to my place of work The Quarry Burn, which serves the most delicious tea time specials (as you can see by the photo of the famous burger!) and was surprised with a homemade lemon meringue cheesecake *droooooool* which was definitely just as tasty as it sounds! On my actual birthday, Karl and I headed into Newcastle for a lunch at Jamie's Italian, which was again delicious. I had some kind of pumpkin pasta which sounds really weird but is one of my favourite dishes ever so it really is a shame that anything beyond fairy cakes is too much for me! After a bit of shopping (naturally), Karl cooked me a candlelit meal and we stayed in to watch Saturday night TV (read: The X Factor. Andrea please marry me) which might not sound very exciting for the night of my birthday but sometimes it's just nice to chill out for a bit! Finally Sunday night marked the end of my birthday weekend with a night spent in Sambucas at Durham with a lot of friends and family. I don't know if any of you have visted a Sambucas before but when it's your birthday they come and grab you from your table, drag you down to the front of the restaurant whilst ringing a bell to get everyone's attention and stand you on a chair where you are made to dance. Overall mortifying yet hilarious!

I've included some photos of a few of my presents too, including the beautiful Marc by Marc Jacobs Amy watch (we were made for each other!) that Karl got me and the Pandora October birthstone ring from my parents. I got some amazing presents and overall had a fabulous birthday! Happy birthday to any other October babies out there!
